Ice Cubes

I dropped an Ice cube into my scuttle after I loaded my brush from a glycerin soap puck(SRD Bulgarian Rose Otto). Added a few drops of pure glycerin into the mix and began do the ol' brush action on the mix. Also my scuttle is a double decker deal with a big dish holding another dish, which I filled with Ice water on the bottom part. Usually I need, like everyone else, to add drops of water to the scuttle and foam to build a lather. Well, I think the Ice cube did the job of a spoonful of water, so I added none, and my lather built just fine.

When I felt the lather might turn to soapish texture after a pass and a half, I pulled the Ice cube out and discarded it. The Ice water in the bottom of my Punk Rock/ Redneck scuttle held the top bit and her lather at a very cold temp. I feel the Colder the Better. Also PLENTY of rinsing with Cold water off the tap, and a talented hand wielding a scary sharp Razor gave me the best shave in years. Smoother than a 12 year old. Ice Cubes are......Cool. Dig?

    John,
You've really got me interested in trying an ice cube. Lately I've only been using MWF and lather on the soap and on my face, but you mentioned a while ago about rubbing the cube over your face before the shave. Have I got that right and how does it compare to putting it in the skuttle?

    Cheers,

I've never put an Ice cube on my face, but I have stuck my -lather -brush -scuttle in the freezer. You know how it's all experimentation. I've loaded the brush from the soap and put that in the freezer. Also I've made lather in a scuttle and the put that in the freezer. But I think I hit upon it last night when I dropped an Ice cube into the scuttle with glycerine drops, and used a soap loaded brush to then make the lather.

Ok, I recently Prep'd my beard with an Ice Cube. After washing my face, I took an Ice Cube and rubbed it across my face just before lathering up. Great Results. and again After the shave I did it again. No Irritation, no dried out skin feeling, and the best part, No Stubble.
