I have a 3" UF hone and it works great. Yes, they do make a 3" you have to look around a bit but they do make it.

The scratch pattern is very fine. There is minimal feedback on it which is a litle disconcerting. Overall I would say this is a good buy.

Here is the downside to this hone. It aint flat no matter what they tell you. I could feel irregularities with my hand on one side of the stone and on the other it felt smooth. I decided to try using the smooth side on a blade. With my first strokes I could feel the uneven surface. After about forty strokes I could see the metal particulate on the high spots. I flattened it but it took about two hours and three sheets of 360 sandpaper (which invalidated the warranty)
