I have only seen the 3/8ís ones. Mine is maybe 10 years old, the pink ones mounted on a plastic base and used almost daily, on every razor, still about Ĺ in thick.

Donít think it matters much as even lapped before and sometimes during each use, just a couple of swipes, very little material is removed.
Marty they are 10 or 20mm. I am impressed that your 3/8 stone is now 1/2 in thick. That means it has grown by about 3.2mm or 1/8 since you got it

As has been said, unless you are going to do a lot of work with it the thinner stones will last a long time, though the thicker ones do give you a bit more clearance in use.

Yea, that new math… guess I have the thick one. Ha.

I keep my stones in a drawer, wonder what they are doing, in the dark?

You would think that reproduction would wear them down, unless yours is a lady and the gestation period is very long as an aside the CBN strop is still going strong thanks.
