    Default A rock from 330mate

I bought this natural stone from 330 mate on ebay. I'm happy with the size of it, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'm sure it will fit into the progression somewhere, so even if it isn't a magical finishing stone I'll be happy.

What I would like to know is can anyone tell me what the stamps say?

330mate uses this on almost all of his stones. The one on the end is a portion of the one in the box which I think says something to the effect that this is a product of the correct mountain.

It really doesn't tell you much about the stone at all.

Does the writing disappear after use?

I had one from 330mate, and the writing on the surface came off quite quickly with normal use. Mine had some sort of a clear coat over the sides and bottom, so the writing there was protected.

Do you have a link to the listing? I'm curious as to what he called it/how he rated it and how that compares to your experiences with it. When I bought one, he rated it like it was going to be an awesome finishing hone, but the edge I got off it were comperable to a hone in the 8k-10k range. On the plus side, it was a pretty quick cutter and had nice feedback.

The stone I used to have from him was also not a finisher, it was in the range that would fit right before. The stone was pretty fast cutter though.
I have also tried another stone from 330mate, it had similar features as yours, kiita and asagi color mix, the finish was good but still not what a quality finisher would give.
Since all nat stones are not equal, yours might turn out to be a good stone for your needs, please let us know how you like it when you use it for a bit.

That’s funny, looks like many people got stones from this guy. I personally got 3 shipments from him, some camellia oil, 3 Shapton stones and this 2 Jnats.

First two shipments were ok, but something bothering me about last one. It was clamed Nakayama finishing stone, however feeling of it is not better than 12K shapton. I am absolutely sure it is my last purchase from him.
