Can someone help me ID this old water hone? It has a flying Eagle with a ribbon in it's mouth w/ "E. Pluris Unim" written on it. There is some kind of shield symbol w/ "Shutz Marke" written below it. Then, "Made in Germany" written below that. It is very smooth and gray/black in color. 6"x 1.25" x 5/8"
In English, here is what I believe it says on the label.
"WATER RAZOR HONE
First Quality
Take the small stone and water and ?___? till you produce a lather then apply the Razor and you will get a smooth and durable edge."
It says the same thing in German on the left side.
Could this be a Thuringian or Escher? Trying to determine if it's of some value or common. I'm just learning about all this so any insight would help. Thanks!
