Thread: My new Escher is here...

I got to hone a razor with an escher today... I'm not sure if they're always that fragrant, or if it's just Jimmy's smoke, but it was a pleasure to test out today. Shave test will be later, but I'm expecting it to be very nice based on testing.

I'm so excited to have an escher now

paul tell us more about the way you honed on your escher. did you use it after coti or just use it on a dull razor? a picture would be nice.

Congratulations on your new acquisition. German hones are my favourite finishers, not fragrant per se, but they do exhibit an aroma provided your nose is sensitive enough. What are you normally finishing on? And of course, pics or it doesn't exist

Love the escher right after a progression to 12K on the Nani's or to 16K on the Shapton GS's. I like 10x regular pressure x strokes on a wet stone, followed by 10 VERY slow x strokes on a damp stone. Gary, I got mine from Sham too.

So you managed to snag one from one of our stone hounds? Congratulations, at least you know you got a good one. Light pressure is best. Now you'll know what they mean when guy's say they hate to waste slurry down the drain... have fun

nice one, sham has plenty to spear, i should imagine the escher works with well after 12k naniwa,/10k naniwa.

I've had escher before and wished i'd gave them more time. I sold tem , wished i'd at least kept on to my barbers delight , from jimmy, it was a real mint escher.

Lucky man! I've got one vintage coticule and one probably modern Thuri that smell really sweet when wet.
