Got this unmarked Koma maybe a month ago, and picked it up from DHL (???) on Tuesday... Talk about efficiency and value for money eh!

The only mark is the "sword" kanji you see on the side. Again, very grateful to Cotiga for having sent the smaller piece earlier, so I have a benchmark. It is indeed a Koma, this one. I did not get it to hone on, nor to use as nagura, but perhaps my polishing project can soon continue. Of course, I couldn't resist lapping it a bit and trying on a razor.

That's a big piece of rock. If it's both fine cutting and fast, you're very lucky to have found it.

It's one thing to sharpen something, but another entirely to try to make a large area look perfect.

Thanks for taking the time to put together such a great resource for those of us who can't read kanji. It's been really helpful.

Nakayama maruichi. At least I hope it is since these days who knows. The stamps are faded so it's not a freshly stamped one.
Dont ask me how it performs When it came my wife liked it so much with the stamps that she asked if she could keep it.
