Thread: DMT 220 or 325 for lapping?

I use a 325 and for large or extremely hard stones I use plate glass with silicon carbide. I have heard people complain about ruining there 325 on certain hard stone like an Arkansas Translucent.

Yeah lapping hard stones sure can wreck a DMT 325, I just ordered my second...

I bought the 8x3" DMT DuoSharp W8CXNB--220 on one side, 325 on the other. Best of both worlds. First use the 220 for a rough lapping, then use the 325 for a final lapping.
