Thread: What is your main finishing Hone?

I realize a lot of you of have or had many finishing hones like myself. I tend to go to my J-nat the most after my coti.

What finishing hone do you go to the most?

On the left side--

I use a Jnat

B/G Escher, Charnely Forest, Coti.

Escher or Asagi.

I leave it up to the razor to chose

Mine is my Norton 8k. I've finished all my honing jobs on that one.

All 2 of them.

Most razors I finish on my PHIG(luckily got one of the top notch ones). On harder steels, such as American razors, I use a well loved, old surgical black Arkansas. Leaves an edge that would crumble on softer steels.

Shapton 30.000 Glasstone. I love it!
Occassionaly I use 1µm diamond lapping film, an Ohzuku and a Shobudani. But nothing beats the feel of the 30k (disclaimer: personal preference!)
