I alternate sets a lot when honing. I will use the Chosera 1K to set a bevel and then either use Shapton Glass, Naniwa Super Stone or Norton for the 3K, 4K, 5K and 8K's and then will mix up the finishing stones between, Shapton Glass, Sigma or Naniwa Super Stones or Naturals. It actually is a lot of fun and results are usually similar. I have found that the Norton lapping plate gunks up when using it with the Naniwa's for some reason so I will usually use either DMT 325 or GDLP for cleaning and lapping.
