I don't have it here yet as I just won it in an auction as a bonus to 2 razors, but... any wild guesses at what this might be?
the owner didn't list any info other than that it was "some american stone" :/

don't have any info yet.. Will update once it gets here.

From what I can see I would have to agree.

Can I offer another option? Swedenstein due to those brown stripes.

For the record I'd like to say that I told him right after he bought it that most likely the bottom side was up. Some sellers don't like to show the used dished side

Cutmarks like that on the side are usually not seen on Thuringians but on Welsh slates. However considering it's from Germany a Thuringian or Schwedenstein is more likely. It seems a bit too thick for a Schwedenstein though, but who knows. If it is an extreme close-up may reveal speckles.

lapped the other side today, neither has speckles unless if you look under a 50x microscope.. don't think that counts :P

just honed the little razor with it with a slight smile, and, well... .

why did I not have this sooner! :P
I even like it straight off of the stone better than I do if I use crox on my balsa paddle afterwards o.O
