My new llyn melynllyn hone.
Just arrived with post, according to the seller in 2 hours you can lap it yourself. Bought sandpaper: 60 grit, 220 grit, 400 grit. Used 3 sheet of 60, 1 sheet of 220 and 1/2 sheet 400 grit paper.
It took 2 hours to lap it, after a tiring day at work. Started to do it at 1 am. It turned out really nice, did not used yet, but will so next week. While lapping it was giving a purplish-pink slurry. I asked the seller for a small slurry stone, which I got with the package. The hone itself is 1550 gram after lapping....
I really like the copper green spots on the stone. Hope you like it. Will let you know how it works out. G night.

Yeah, it is HUGE!!!! Was thinking about somehow split it in two, I can see lines running in the middle, but have to admit that I am afraid to mess it up....
Tomorrow will try it out. Then shave-test one of my razors. Most likely my frameback "Le Talisman". G. night

If it's anything like mine, you will like it!
For splitting, I would try and find someone with a lapidary rock saw, that would probably be the safest way to split it

Just finished shaving with my freshly honed razor. Closest shave ever, really keen edge, sharp and comfortable, no razor burn at all. Llyn melynllyn hone really gave a smooth edge!!!! Used Thiers Issard frameback razor. 50 laps with slurry then 20 without, HHT passed, then stropped. After a hot shower it cut my stubble with no effort. (4 days stubble, like nails...
) For 30 GBP shipped, it was a REAL BARGAIN. Highly recommended.

Congratulations that's a beauty. I was very close to getting one of those. I wound up getting the dual stone.

Nice big one. With those green inclusions it looks a lot like a vintage stone of mine.

Very pretty stone. I never get tired of looking at pictures of natural stones.

Yeah I am really happy to have this "weapon". Was afraid, that will have trouble lapping it, but it was easy and fun. Those green spots are the "cream on the cake".
