Default Mailing a razor to get it professionally honed

    Hello All!

I live in a beautiful location in the middle of the frozen nowhere, and with that, there are no local trained professionals that offer the service of honing a blade. So my question to you, the knowledgeable community, do shops exist that offer to have razors mailed to them and honed?

If so, is there a list or search engine to utilize? I'll be entertained to see who is the closest. (I live in Houghton Michigan,
    47° 7' N / 88° 34' W with a population of 7,700)

Thank you all for your input and consideration to this novice's inquiries!

If you wander over to the SRP classifieds and go into the Member's Services section, you'll find a slew of members that hone professionally. Pick your poison and send your razor to one....

Please don't google it, use someone from the classified's. Some knife sharpeners will tell you they can "hone" & they simply can't.

Put it in a case/coffin if you have one, wrap with bubble wrap. I prefer to use the USPS Priority Small Flat Rate Box. I wad up a bit of newspaper in the bottom(shipping popcorn works well too), drop in the bubble wrapped razor, a bit of newspaper on the top and mail it. Personally, after I have labeled the box, I wrap the outside of the box once in each direction with clear packing tape to ensure it's going to stay together.
