    There is also a nice one by Alex Jacques. Both are excellent.

    That was an EXCELLENT vid! Thank you, I really like the simple manner in which he explains himself and I also liked the way he had cut down his Nortons. I will have to remember this video for future reference.

    Mother #*@*#* I just wrote this long beautiful reply telling of my success, tactics and thanking you guys and g#*%£&n it if I didn't hit the wrong button and delete it!!!!

    So here's the gist

    2 hours, lots of sweat
    1hr on the 800 king lots of circles and rolling x's (arm hairs popping like tight springs!)
    20 min on the 4k king giving a decent polish
    To the Coticule from medium slurry down to water

    20 laps on crox felt
    30 laps on 2in latigo
    60 laps on 3in horse butt
    Result=Scary sharp(for a wedge)!!
    Thank god you guys helped me get that figured out or my next post would have been a give away! lol

    Ps
    Also honed my Boker art deco, why didn't anyone tell me how freaking great those can be?? Seriously sharp instrument.

    good job, way to go.
    i think you will be happy to have done it without tape.
    pretty sure its a near wedge though, the wide bevel, and the spine wear, and the space between where the razor doesn't touch the hone indicates a near wedge. preferable, in my mind.

    It may have been a near wedge at one point, but now a days the razor touches the stone from spine to edge.

    Can't wait to take her for a test spin, but I just shaved today with my Masonic 8/8 gilbert bros full wedge and got an amazing shave. I suck at waiting lol
