Frictionite 00
Good afternoon from Austin Texas . I have seen alot of these hone stones up for sale over the years . They typically have a ink stamp , the one I have has the letters stamped into the hone like a metal stamp . Any background history would be most helpful . DRFLEO55 @ Austin.rr.com . If anyone has information where I can purchase a guide to hone stones please clue me in . Thanks

It's one of the better barber hones. Mine was made (and/or distributed) by the AM Hone Co. of Olean, NY. That's all the info I have on them.

They are very good barber hones and prices have been creeping up on them as they are not as abundant as say a swaty and other nice barber hones. There are some smaller frictionites out there called "Little frictionite" and are about an inch shorter than a normal sized barber hone. They normally a combination of finishing on one side and a little coarser on the other.
I find that a Swaty can do just as good and are priced reasonably. In any event frictionites turn up now and then, good hunting.

Thank you for the info , very interesting and suprising , I will be looking for a winner hone , my curiosity is peaked . The 00 cuts OK , I still prefer a coticle . Did the papers come with the 00 or were they an aftermarket item ?

Thank you for the reply . I agree about the Swaty , they are nice . I'll stay with coticles for now .

Thank you for the feedback . Mine was made by the same . Perhaps a bit extravagant for the price .
