    Default That Honing Feeling.

I've been honing quite a bit lately, and I like all my stones. But I like one more than the others. I love the feeling of my Norton 8k with a little bit of slurry on it. It feels soft and velvet-y. It's smooth and silky. It's like taking that first sip of beer after a long day, ultimately satisfying.

I find that when I sit down for a honing session, at the bevel set I'm already looking forward to that 8K.

Anyone else have a stone that they look forward to using, for any reason?

I may also be completely out to lunch here.... but I don't care. I love my Norton 8K!

Yup, my Naniwa 12k. Hasn't failed me yet. Unfortunately I use it mostly as a touch up stone, and with the number of razors in my rotation it doesn't get used that often....

I know what your talking about with the 8k, but the feeling from the chosera 1k is something ill never forget... I really got a hate on for my norton 1k these days, I wish I had a better reason to fork out for the chosera!

Coticule with slurry-- the buttery feel and the smell, plus, I know that I'm getting close to the 'ol shave test.

I really like the way it feels to hone on a Naniwa 5k. And my Asagi when the blade builds up that nice level of draw.

Pigtail strokes with a light slurry on my Thuringen, it really has a velvet feel to it, very close to the Norton 8k with a light slurry...
Another really good feeling hone is the Naniwa 10k SS with a light slurry..

We are talking just the honing action right not the ultimate out come????
