Favorite DE Blades?

I use a DE razor if I'm in a hurry in the morning, like when work gets buys and I need to get out the door earlier or if I didn't get enough sleep. It seems most of my favorite blades are made in eastern Europe. I'd like to move toward brands made in other parts of the world due to recent world events. Do you have favorite DE blades not made in eastern Europe?

Feather razors from Japan are expensive but shave very well.

Ive also tried Derby from Turkey, Shark from Egypt, and also dozens of brands from sample packs on ebay. Unfortunately, Astra stainless were my blade of choice for sharpness and at the best cost but those are made by Gillette in Russia.

Ive bought double edge twice in the past 10 years. Those 100 packs lasted me forever, however my experience with these brands from trying them in 2013-14 may be dated as manufacturing processes may change. I've read people's complaints about a difference in quality or consistency of their favorite DE razors over the years.

I'd suggest trying a sample pack from ebay. The cost will be high per razor, but at least you get to try several brands and make an informed decision before buying in bulk.

Your milage may very...

Sample packs is your best answer. Find "Your" new blade.

That said... I picked up a few packs of the PAA Blades to try after they were released. I have ended up buying a box of them now.

For me and my beard style, wet or dry, they have performed better than expected in all my DE Razors. Wife also enjoys them in her Twig Razor.

I found the hype on Feathers to be unwarrented for me. Seemed Harsh.

Murkers come in a close second for me.

I'm not looking at you !
Another 'Feathers' lover here. I carry them along with a self storing brush when I travel. Haven't bought any other DE blades after using Feathers. I now have enough to last for years, especially since straights are about the only blade I use these days

It doesn't say on the package I have one here however they are made in Russia
Good to know. I read online from a comment on Gillette that the package had it in small print on it.. Since I don't have those I didn't personally know....

I'd suspected the King Gillette blades were made in Russia since several of their other blades are made there.

The Persona Med Preps are really nice but hard to find. I bought a pack off Amazon, from an overseas seller, but the last time I ordered some blades the shipping was so slow I cancelled the order.

Muhle make blades that I like a lot. They come in 10 packs rather than the usual 5. I rate them nearly as sharp as Feathers but longer lasting.

I was a devoted straight razor user until I developed neuropathy.
After shopping around, I have found FEATHER to be the best.

I have heard quite a bit from guys who found Feathers to be too sharp.
I suggest vintage Gillette Adjustable Safety Razors or some other 9 setting brand.
These are readily available on Ebay.
