I may be wrong but I do believe this one will clean up and hone well. It has 2 very small chips in the edge but they will hone out quick. The blade may be void of the Solingen name in gold after the polishing but the stamping on the tang will still be there. Should be a good one to start with.
Usually when I clean these up they loose the decoration on the blade. I buff and polish them and it's gone. the stamping on the tang is alway left and any design on the scales. I agree that it should be a good shaver. Almost all the German blades I've honed do good. That's why I look for them and when finished put them out there for those starting out. It's always good to start with a shave ready blade. The ones that don't shave have a habit to pull and discourage folks.
