This is suppose to be a 12K stone 7 1/2 X 2 7/8 X7/8 with slurry stone. I need something for my kitchen knives so my Naniwas are out of the question. This one was cheap. I know it's not a thuragan (spelling bad) but then again it was only 39 bucks. we'll see when it gets here.

Is it a natural stone? Looks like it from the saw marks maybe a so called Chinese 12K or Guan Xi stone. Nice real estate. Hope its a winner.

After I got my first Work Sharp Ken Onion belt sharpener with the Blade grinder attachment I haven't really looked back. Great piece of machinery!

Can you please tell me more about how this stone is working out for you.. I have saw a couple of those stones and have thought about getting one since I have NO stone to finish a razor on and really NEED ONE !!!!!!!!!!! I have saw several people talk about the Adaee stones and that they are great finishers and the fact that a 12k or a 15k are less than 40 dollars is very attractive price wise if they are really any good.... I would like to know if yours is ok...

The more you use it the better it is. I guess you could use a slurry stone enough to make it better but I think the more you use it the more you learn how to use it. Mine gives me a good edge but I also use my 20k Suehiro for the final finish. After all is said and done the Adaee is a very good stone. I would guess it is between the 12 and 15k. It is hard and smooth and for the money it’s worth it

Is there a Doctor in the house ?
I had one of those 12k Guanxi slates, and didn't get on with it. I think I gave it away.
I never thought to try it on kitchen knives as it seemed a bit too fine for that job (unless they are already damn' sharp!)
My kitchen knives are the stainless set sold by Lee Valley (over-priced Porsche Design). They do respond to Spyderco Medium and Fine Hones, and I keep them touched up with a diamond rod and a steel.
