I have found age will eventually catch up with everyone including those of us that love straight razor shaving. That said, my steady hand is not quite as steady as it has been. The question now is..... to list my razors on the auction site or here on SRP. I am inclined to list them here. Lynn was such a help when I got started and the site although, less expansive, has been and is dedicated to those who love straights. My first custom was a Mastro Livi with a damascus blade and abalone scales was a hand me down from Don. I sold it and regretted the sale every since. I've had probably had well over a hundred and fifty straights and have moved them in and out over the last twenty years. The twenty or so I kept are mostly Sheffield blades. Some with ivory scales, some with bone, some with horn. Most all from pre 1900 and some prior to 1850. I have a few customs. A Max Spretcher 10/8 with abalone scales is the 'top' and my most beautiful blade followed by a Zowada blade, Robert Williams, Bill Ellis, and a Korratt. Wade and Butcher is well represented. It has been a learning adventure not only buying blades but learning how to clean them up, hone them to shaving sharpness, and acquiring the stones to bring the blades alive. I have a Merkur slant DE that has been my travel blade and it is likely to become my go to razor now that it is a little more challenging to use the straights. Twenty years without nicks, finally ended. I am hopeful I can pass the blades to someone who will appreciate the history and artisan nature of these blades.l to bring the b
