Ladies on a shaving website.
I am also a member on the B&B and the other day a member brought up a question on putting in a women section on shaving.Boy I was surprised on how many of the members were against it.We have a section here and I am proud to say how gentlemanly it was accepted.I have no problem with women sharing in such a part of american history.I hope I didnt offend any one with this post.I was just amazed on such insecurities.

Hmm... I don't recall seeing that post over there.
I think it's nice to have the section, as long as it doesn't lead to segregation. It certainly hasn't here, as you see forum members (men and women alike) posting thorughout the forums on SRP.

I can honestly say, when I started lurking here it took me ages to actually post. I wasn't sure how I would be accepted, or how my questions would be addressed. I hope that posts like the above will help other women to know that they are indeed welcome here. As much as I appreciate the option of the ladies section, for those that may have questions relating specifically to women, I am more appreciative of the fact that you welcome us to post wherever we please.

I cannot see why anyone would object, you're opinions are worth just as much. Dare I say more, considering the amount you actually shave compared to men.

Considering the fact that women have more surface area to shave I think they might have more of a right to be here than most of us men do, and
women generally also have a better understanding than men do of skin care. So if you ask me women are right at home here on the boards.
besides its nice to have ladies around to tell us if were doing something stupid.

Women throughout history have kept men in check. Not allowing them to run rampant and roughshot.
Thanks for the added civility.

French Toast Please!
The original intent of this site was to provide information about straight razor shaving for people who were seeking it. When Lynn first started this site (as a yahoo group!) there was little to no information to be found on the web.
Continuing to make this information available is key to what we are as a site and promoting this hobby, in all of its forms, is a continuing mission.
We are proud to have our female members engaged in this conversation and I for one look forward to their continued contributions which provide women everywhere with the knowledge to pursue this wonderful hobby.

I certainly have no objections to having the ladies here. I don't honestly understand why anyone would.

Is the gender the primary thing on a person?
Personally I find the info about stuff much more important than whether a man or a woman is actually dealing with it.
