    Default Shaved the wife's legs

Shaved my wife's legs last night in preparation for Valentine's day, had been wanting to do it for a bit but was not comfortable in my abilities until lately. Took quite a long time, but she thoroughly enjoyed it and not a single nick or cut. Wife is pregnant so I think this will become a more regular routine because she liked it so much.

Sounds like it could be good therapy considering her present condition, good work, no nicks, cuts or scrapes. Sounds like its going to be a lot of mutual fun.......at least until the debates about prep, soap, razors and etc. arise!

    Default ATG

In some spots I went ATG (in particular below her knee) this is where her thickest hair grows (though it is not all that thick as it is).

I got to shave "a" leg the other day & we both enjoyed the experience. I put it to her this way: Let me shave one leg and you the other to see which one gets closest and lasts longest. My plan was to make two passes, but only made one ATG and got my call to work. My one pass lasted better and was closer than her two pass M3. I've got her curiosity up....

She uses an M3? Smart lady.

You know, for all the issues that you guys have with your razors, lady's razors, believe it or not, are even worse.

    A lot worse.

When I have been in such a situation to do so, I have *cough* borrowed a Mach3 or similar contraption because it's that little bit less crappy than my Venus.

The only reason I didn't get a Mach3 myself is because by the time I realized they were better, I already had a Venus and I didn't want to blow the money.

I think once I got my angle right, I definitely get a closer shave with a straight. But as I'm still learning the angles, it's funny how in some parts the hair shows up quicker than others, indicating where I need to work on my technique, he he.

fletcher - Glad she liked the shave! Good work, sir!

One thing you need to keep in mind is that hair grows at different rates, it may not be your form. BTW, I bought her a M3 brush & razor set for her birthday. She's totally hooked on the shaving soap & can't stand the canned stuff now. She swears she is getting closer shaves & her legs are more hydrated. I don't ever think I'll get her to totally convert, but that's ok.

Well, I shaved my wife's legs last night for the first time. I had mentioned the possibility several months ago, but since she seemed nervous about it, I didn't push it, and just the other day she asked if I would mind having her legs with a straight razor. I suppose that since I've not managed to slit my own throat with a razor she finally figured I wouldn't slice a major artery in one of her legs.

Anyway, she soaked in the tub for a while to help with the prep, after which I had her put some hair conditioner on both legs. I lathered up about only a section at a time and worked toward the knee, as suggested by someone else.

The shave seems to have been a success--no nicks or cuts and she claims it's the closest shave she has ever had! Maybe I'll get asked again. . . .

Congrats! I am sure she will be asking again in the near future Straight razor shaves are much closer than you can get with any disposable razor
