Thread: Converted Wife

It took some doing, but my wife is officialy converted to DE shaving. I bought her a Merkur Classic Long Handle and after several bad experiences she had given it up. Three days ago she picked it up again and took the time to shave her legs sloowly. The result hooked her.

She is using a Lime Shave Stick from Mama Bear in the shower and could not be happier.

Straight razor? Who knows? Maybe.

I think once every persons who shaves, legs or face, with multi-blade cartridge razors tries the double edge, he or she realizes the benefits, and the pleasures. The problem is getting people to try the double edge. You obviously have been successful with your wife. Congratulations. Please keep us informed on her progress.

Wonderful to hear that your wife is using DE's. It's great to have everyone in the family enjoying great shaves.

My wife watched me shave a couple of times with a STR8 and said that looks like fun could I do it on my legs? I handed her a razor showed her how I would hold it, whipped her up some lather and she with no hesitation shaved one leg with great results and no blood. She then said am I crazy or is this not as sharp as when I started? I stropped the razor, handed it back to her and she said oh that's much better and shaved her second leg. Now if I can just get her to learn to make her own lather and strop a razor. Actually I think part of what she likes about it is me doing those little things for her and the way that makes it something we are doing together.

Awesome, I finnally converted mine. She liked the lady gillette blue star" thought it was pretty " then refined it down to my ej89 and she loves it! She let me shave her once with a straight but wow it is harder than I thought to shave someone else do to lack of feedback! Went well though. It is some great quality time with the other half, she likes the attention and I enjoy getting to whip up all types of new lather combos for her, starting to get better at super lather/ ubber lathering as a result!
Ps- now she supports my rad as she wants to try new razors now as well! Win win situation!

Congrats on getting your wife to covert over to DE's and maybe to using straights in the future. Please let her know she is welcome here on the forum if she wishes.

congrats! my girl has her own DE on its way now. It is a wonderful thing when you discover it together

A couple nights ago my wife came to me and asked if I'd lather up her legs with one of my brushes and Tabac, then shave them with my Gillette Tech. That was a shocker for me, but I was glad to oblige. The shave went very well...she was quite pleased with the experience....I was quite pleased with the opportunity, and the rest I'll keep to myself
