I am using a DE, but I would like to try a straight. All I know for certain is that I don't want a shavette, but that's all I know....
Advice would be greatly appreciated ladies.....
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Linda --
The least-expensive source for a shave-ready straight razor (vintage) is probably:
Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales
The second-least-expensive is the "Classifieds" on this website.
You'll also need a strop (available from either source). I suggest buying an inexpensive strop -- you'll be nicking your first strop, if you're as clumsy as most of us.
You can get started for a bit over $50, razor and strop from Whipped Dog [Larry].
Least expensive new shave-ready razor is the Dovo "Best Quality" from
Straight Razor Designs, The Finest In Gentlemens Shaving And Grooming Needs
Charles [sorry if I shouldn't be posting here]

Welcome Linda!.
My best advise is a 5/8 round point razor, strop and soap/cream and brush. Not sure what you currently may have on hand. There are many places you can get these. Whipped dog is one as has been mentioned. Check out the classifieds here also, there are new razors being posted almost every day. Straightrazordesigns.com also has some Dovo starter sets that are priced nicely.
Check out the FAQ's here http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/ladies-corner/58577-faqs.htmlhttp://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/ladies-corner/58577-faqs.html
Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to help you out. Good luck
Thank you both....
I'm good to go with both brush and soap/cream....
