Greetings from Massachusetts.

I'm a newbie to SRP but I've heard good things about it and you. Just checking in. I've been DE shaving for about a year and I've just sent out my first straight (H. Boker from an antique shop) to be honed. I'm also awaiting delivery of a strop.

I appreciate the chance to have a place like this with knowledgeable and experienced folks.

Welcome to Straight Razor Place. A Boker razor to start with is a sweet choice. You also have done the smart thing and sent it out to be honed professionally.

Concentrate on honing your skills with the straight razor by being methodical and patient. Forget baby-bottom-smooth for now; that will come later.

Most of all, embrace the ritual of making lather, stropping and, of course, shaving with the Boker.
