Hello! My name is Paul. Just got back into straight razor shaving after a 10 year hiatus. Wish there was a site like this 23 years ago when I started using a straight razor. Could of saved my face from a steep learning curve! Lol look forward to participating in this great community

Welcome Tsunami, great bunch of folks on here who have forgotten more about shaving with and restoring straights than I'll ever know. what part of CT are you in? I was in Danbury till about 3 months ago.

I'm located in East Haven. Yeah I learned to shave with a straight razor when I was around 18-19 years old. Shaved that way for 10 uears or more the I got married, then kids, life in general and started using my safety razor more and more. Then you know out of shear laziness I started using the Mach 3s etc. friggin blades are over the top expensive!!! So now after 17 years of marriage I asked for the big D and now I find out my girlfriend actually finds it sexy that I shaved with a straight razor! Lol So being the old dog I am I unpacked my straight razor gear and started again. Found out my 3 old razors need honing and my strop is a dry piece of toast! So now I'm just getting my gear back together. Looking for a long 3in strop and need to get a 4000/8000 Norton and maybe a 12000 for shits and giggles.
