    Default What is this thing?

Anyone know what this thing might be?

It has a razor edge on the concave side of the blade and the scales appear to be made of tortoise shell. Could it be some kind of ladies leg shaver?

    I think it's a surgical instrument.

Voidmonster identifies it in post #2 of the following thread. Not a razor but a very interesting old knife

Nope, it's a Pinaud fruit slicing tool. Originally designed by Mr. Clubman.

About 4 years (or more) back, This same (style) blade showed up on an ebay auction, and people were guessing left and right as to what it might have been. I don't know what happened to that thread, but it pleases me to see that the mystery has since been solved!

I would have guessed it a head shaver. Good to know what it is!

Looks to be pretty dangerous when sharpened, I wouldn't want to meet up with it in a dark alley, it's too close to Halloween for that!
