Default Gun oil on a Razor?

I have a steady supply of Hoppes No.9 Gun Oil.

Seems like there wouldn't be any harm in using it for long term razor storage.

    Any opinions on this?

I use Ballistol, it's been in use in Europe for about 100 years. It's my understanding that most of the hunting lodges over there smell like it! I like the smell and it rinses off very easily. I've sent razors back to the above (tcrideshd) with it on his very nice blades.

If it is Hoppes oil I'd say it should be fine. If it is Hoppes Nitro Solvent I'd look elsewhere. I love the smell of HNS, but I was taught to clean that off the firearm & oil it afterwards. Might be too much of a good thing.

My favorite is R.I.G. (rust inhibiting grease) put out by Birchwood Casey nowadays.

I've used Remoil on razors and everything else for a long time.
