    Default Straight Razor Case wanted

Hi Guys, hope everyone is well.

I'm wondering if anyone could tell me where I could get a nice vintage SR case. I was thinking of making one myself (in vintage style), but thought I'd put the question out there in case anyone has one for sale, knows where to get them, or could make one for me.

I'm after one similar to these:

I think this is the biggest thing I am missing with regard to straights. There seems to be no real quality options when it comes to cases, or boxes. Thiers-Issard boxes are nice, but the razors are loose in the box and so would shake around if you move it. The Dovo hard case is too small and won't fit razors bigger than 5/8 (it wouldn't fit my Le Grelot, e.g.). I'd love a new case like the ones you posted. I wish somepne would make some. If I were handier I'd do it myself, but I'm too picky and it wouldn't turn out finished well enough.

Persco, this is going on the bay at the moment:

Straight Razor Set M. Kindal Paris in original case - eBay (item 170391464376 end time Oct-13-09 12:07:36 PDT)

You could perhaps modify it to suit a bigger blade.

I would bid but want one with rounded edges. What is it they say, the more a man looks the fussier he becomes. I hang my head in shame.

Those look like slightly modified glasses cases... it should be relatively easy to adapt an existing case. I will try that this week.

Thanks. I saw that listing. I don't want the razors, just a nice case. Also a case for more razors, like 9, that fits them snugly and safely. I'm the king of fussy. Believe me.

I was just getting ready to reply when I saw this post. A vintage eyeglass case from the antique store may do the trick!

You need to install something to stop the razors moving inside the case, that's the required "adaptation" part

I have also bought a nice Puma wooden box (the one for the Puma 3588 stag knife) that should safely hold about 20 razors once I'm done with it.

I've made two razor boxes with magnetic hinges and if I get a chance to, I will photograph them this weekend. If you'd like to try your hand at retro-fitting a glasses case, hit me up and I will assist you if I can.

Also, you could pick up some bass or balsa wood and a gouge from Rockler or Woodcraft and go at it from scratch. Both of those woods are soft and easy to work and have exquisite strength and resilience.

I'd be very interested in seeing these razor boxes... I was thinking of buying a cigar humidor like this:

But it would need an interior that is soft and holds the razors snug, also taking into account the different razors' sizes, etc. I don't know how to do the interior.
