The glass top displays are beautiful, but I did this on the cheap.

A piece of 1x6 oak, a table saw with a dado blade and some wood glue.

For a woodworker, this can be made any size, little rare earth magnets in the top frame hold about 20 razors in this one.:
Here is a link to a full showing of the case and a plan for the frame.
It is demountable from the wall as shown in the photo album.

I like this. Looking at the pin cases for a large razor collection, I think the case they call Large
    Large Pin/Medal Display Case
Makes the most sense. The interior width of 15" allows for two columns. And with the 24" high you could have 20 rows.

What did you do for the hooks? Did you bend finishing nails in the vise?

I would think those multiple spoon racks would work if you hung them upside down and you stored the razors tang down inserted in the spoon slots. Like DwarenChef did with his Grandmothers spoon rack.

Just made a small display case out of a small front loading shadow box, some square bent screw on hooks and some glue. Like how it came out and could always make a bigger one later.

I did buy some of the display cases that I mentioned in my post a few above this. After I bought them I found that they were a lot cheaper if one buys through Amazon.
See: Amazon.com - LARGE Pin Display Case Shadow Box Flag Display Case, with Glass Door, PC04-CH -

For hooks I did a bit of experimenting. I found the best to be 1-1/2" x 17 wire brads. I bought them from Lowes. I used a vise and hammer to bend them one by one.

I know this is an old post but I had an idea and am making a case for my straights out of a cigar display case. Most have a hygrometer and humidity blocks to monitor and to display the level of humidity, which I thought would be great for keeping my razors clean and dry. I am going to use a soft foam and cut out a spot for each razor to sit in snugly so they can't slide around and are secure. Hopefully this will help with some ideas.

You have a very good idea and some members swear by that type of case! Please be aware that foam can hold humidity and may cause a problem later. A solid wood or non-absorbant foam is best..in my opinion. I had a couple old horn scaled razors in a foam and fabric backed case and the scales changed dimension badly. It will take a couple months to get them equal again.
    YMMV

Ok thanks for the heads up. I have some synthetic foam stuff that looks like it will not absorb water. I will look into maybe using something different.

I know this is an old post but it sure is a neat item, I am going to get one as a present. Plus for the new folks on here it might be something they would be interested in. I am going to get mine in cherry. I just ordered mine.
