    ferro,

    I have a similar bowl which I use almost daily for lathering up creams. It is the one made by Sara Bonneyman and sold by Jim Ayars at Vintage Blades. With its slightly textured bottom, I find that it works very well. The one you reference is deeper and may work even better than mine.
