Thread: A shoutout to Dirty Bird Pottery!

Last night was my 3rd attempt at the straight edge. The first 2 attempts were very disappointing. I rushed my lather, my stropping, everything. Last night was awesome though. I broke in my new Dirty Bird 1.5 scuttle. First off Julie at DBP was so helpful and friendly. The scuttle itself was an absolute work of art and was much larger than expected. It held a ton of hot water and held the heat forever. The lather just exploded out of it. It was like whipped cream. Warm, soft, and plentiful. I know I'm completely wet behind the ears at this new obsession of mine but you just can't go wrong with this scuttle. Just my .02. Thanks

I have been meaning to add a Dirty Bird Scuttle to my den. I have a small Moss scuttle that I love but it would be nice to add a large scuttle to my collection for days that I feel like bowl lathering.

Thanks. I'm sold. Now I just need to get the money from the boss (wifey). After dumping a lot on my new gear this might take a while.

i also love my DB 1.5, it keeps the lather warm for a whole 3 pass shave and it looks great on the bathroom counter. i highly recommend one

@AlexRankin Welcome to the obsession...I mean forum. The first two shaves are supposed to be disappointing. The rest of us would hate you if they weren't. If you are seeing improvement by three, I think you are well on your way!

My wife has finally grown tired of me using one of our small ice cream bowls (deep and narrow) as a shaving bowl, so I'm scuttle shopping. I'm a bowl latherer and I'm torn between the 1.5 scuttle and a brush scuttle/lathering bowl set.

What color did you get? Got any pics?
