    Default unique lather bowl

I am new to st8 razors, and do not own any items for this hobby. I do own a hand blown spice dish/bowl. It is obviously glass, it is about 1.5 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter, and the bottom is convex, approx 1 inch in dia and is about .5 inches tall. So a cross section would look like a w. Do you think I could get away with this bowl, or do you think I should just pony up and buy a proper bowl, mug, or scuttle? thanks

Nothing wrong with using what you have on hand, that is ingenuity.

The only thing about the bowl in question is the 1.5" height. I tend to whip lather up that will go over the top of the bowl if the walls aren't higher than that. I used a small cereal bowl that I got at Target for a long time. Cost me 3 or 4 bucks and worked well.

I got a 4-5" deep straight walled mug for a couple bucks from Wally world when I first started that worked really well. I have since gotten a scuttle and absolutely love it. You can see the mug in the following picture, sitting on the corner of the sink:
