Thread: What's the largest razor the Thiers Issard Deluxe Elm Burl Box can hold?

I'm looking at storage options for my 7-day Wacker collection and this TI box looks like a winner. My only concern is that it can fit razors up to 7/8.

Does anyone have this box and if so, what's the largest razor you can fit?

That is a nice box
I have though about buying it a lot of times.
The reason I haven't, is that my collection consists of very different sized razors and I fear they would not lie still in there, if they would fit at all.
For a 7 day set I guess it would be great though.

If I may, let me suggest an alternative that has recently been presented to the market.
A member here, Alembic, has created a very nice product called the Alembicase.
I have ordered a few of them. They come with moisture control and adjustability for most any razor.
At $39.95 they are, IMHO, a steal.

That definitely looks like an option but I wish it were just a tad more elegant. I can't imagine foam lasting for the next 70 years.

Well I'm 32yo. I'm not expecting to live past 100 but I wouldn't mind passing on these razors to my children/grandchildren.

I have the larger box that holds 28 made by the same manufacturer. It will hold my Boker 7/8 Celebrated (new stock) just fine but the spine will ever so slightly tap the glass when closing. You should also know that some razors are too wide to fit in the slots. If a razor has a triple washer it will be just a tad too wide and the Dovo Micarta scales will NOT fit... at all. The scales are just too big and round. Please note I only have two razors that won't fit and the Dovo is going to be re-scaled to accommodate it's new home.

Please don't get me wrong, I really love this box and I can see why it was engineered the way it is. If the slots were larger most smaller razors would slump over. If it were taller the slick appeal would start to diminish. Would I buy another one? Yes. However, I need to fill this box up first.

Thanks for that follow up Logistics. The Wacker razors have fairly wide scales so I think I'd be in the same situation as the Dovo Micarta. I guess I'll pass on this one.

Well it looks like I'll be getting a leather razor roll after all.

My Wacker 7 day set in 6/8 fits the TI box to perfection, with room to spare,I have the exact same box,also have the wacker box.
