Using soap in a scuttle dish
Hello all,
I use soap pucks and haven't tried cream yet. After experimenting with different types of soap bowls over the years, the only problem I consistantly have is that the the soap puck always sping on me except when I used my OLD SPICE mug with the small vertical lines on the bottom. I did try last week melting in the microwave some glycerine soap and that worked. I don't know what to do if I use triple mill types. Now my question, I want to get a scuttle like the Dirty Bird. If I use a puck in that will I have the same problem? and if so what do others do in order to stabilize it? I want to leave the puck in there and just make lather. Any advice will be appreciated. I don't want to buy it then find out i'm in the same situation.
Thanks,
Pat

You aren't supposed to leave the soap in a modern scuttle, and making lather on top of the puck is just wasting product (IMO of course)
I put refill pucks in IKEA Grundtal containers usually , and just load my brush directly from them.

I do leave my soap in my mug after a little bit it just seems to stick there by it self. I don't keep it in my scuttle though, I just load the brush and build lather in the scuttle. I do have a dirty bird and love it, highly recommended.

If you want to do that best to buy a vintage scuttle which were designed for that. Of course they have their limitations too.
