Thread: 7 day razor rack - first iteration

Most of my razors, being 5/8 will fit very well. I made the holes on top circular when they should be oval or otherwise oblong.

Simple piece of 1/2" oak plank and a dremel tool and spade bit with a little bit of chiseling to get things to fit. I sketched it out on paper
over Thanksgiving weekend and have tinkered with it for at least an hour or two since then. It's not quite finished. Needs a little more
work with some sandpaper, stain and seal, thinking about satin marine polyurethane thinned out some. I want it to still look like wood.

Thinking about doing this right in Ebony with my initials or name in ivory inlay. That's a little ambitious for my talents, I think.

Razors include ERN Craftsman, Dahlgren in Ebony, Friodur, Double Duck, among others I just tossed in there.

The Ebony razor you sent me is front and center.

I'm actually going to redo this in Ebony, using elliptical holes so ALL my razors will fit. Sometime real soon.

Problem is finding decent Ebony. As in EBON, Ebony, meaning, BLACK heartwood. I can stain it, but it still doesn't
have the same density/grain.

There're a couple of specialty wood shops in Maryland I plan on visiting soon, before the EPA/DOI bust them
like they did Gibson guitar.

If I could figure out how to mass produce variations of these, I could sell hundreds of 'em, but I'm not that organized.

No. I drew it on a sheet of printer paper with a ruler, cut out the pattern, marked centers of the drilled holes and
the general outline, and went at it with a chop saw, spade bits, belt sander and dremel tool.

It's about ten inches by three by one half inch if that helps.
