    Default Scuttle Idea...and it works!

I've been wanting a Dirty Bird or a DB 1.5 for quite a while, but couldn't justify spending the money (3 younguns and SWMBO who's lost enough weight to need a new wardrobe ). I went to Old Time Pottery the other day and found a "self-watering" planter on clearance for 4 bucks. The top pot is unglazed so there's a little roughness. Not as much as I'd have liked, as everyone raves about how the ridges in the scuttles help lather production. However, it works pretty well. Filling the bottom with hot water keeps the lather nice and warm, and since the water tends to SLOWLY migrate into the planter portion, it helps keep the lather from getting to stiff on me. Not my ideal choice but until I can afford to outlay the $$, it's a pretty good alternative. I thought the idea might help some other folks looking for options.

LOL! Quite a fitting title...not to mention the thing is RED. Then again, no self-respecting Bama fan could have any other color

JR, thanks. I'll check those out. Maybe I can talk the missus into getting me one for my birthday coming up in a few months.
