Ok that took way longer then I thought it would, but I went REALLY slow,,

    I got 1 full Qt

    Plus a couple of cups,

I could have probably got more out of there, but what I made is really White and Pure, I strained it through a wire mesh then through the wire mesh and Flannel...

Pretty happy for my first attempt

    Incredible -

The biscuits on Sunday morning were noticeably flakier and the taste was a bit better

We used some of the Lard to pan fry a couple of Steaks for dinner I was really impressed at the heat handling abilities

After all this time and practicing I made the absolute best biscuits ever tonight

    Even the wife was impressed

Combination of all the tips and tricks have paid off

Lard is king for certain foods, heart disease be damned. Once upon a time Mc Donalds I believe used it to deep fry it's french fries with this fat and I think it made all the difference. Works great for seasoning Cast Iron too it surely can take the heat.

My understanding after some reading is that Real Rendered Lard is actually much healthier then Crisco, Processed Lard or Shortening

But heck they probably all are bad for us

Hydrogenated fats / trans fats are the absolute worst of the lot. I am a firm believer everything food in moderation. You will be OK. excesses are reserved for razors.
