    Default Coffee ............... then what?

So when I have my coffee I typically take it with cream and sugar. At this time I am trying to cut down sugar in my diet and do not care for sugar substitutes like splenda and sweet and low.

I was wondering what other people like to add to there coffee?

(ps i do drink black coffee in the morning but like the cream and sugar for the rest of the day)

    More coffee

Maybe you could try something like almond milk or soy milk.

Maybe agave to replace the sugar?

My wife has been putting coconut cream in hers lately.

Black no sugar. For years I had half&half and sugar. Then I quit the sugar. Took 3 days to get over it. About 15 years ago I began drinking it straight black. Took 3 days to get over it. Never looked back.

Straight up black for me too, although a touch of whisky can warm a winter day quite nicely.

One suggestion for folks looking to shake up their coffee routine and get rid of the cream and sugar: try a *really* top quality roast. I'm talking either a local roaster who does it fresh on the spot, or get some green beans and roast your own. The difference between truly freshly roasted coffee and stuff that has been sitting on the shelf for a while is remarkable, and at the risk of coming across like a pretentious wine snob, the different flavours and scents that come out of the stuff when you brew it is incredible.

My favourite right now is to get green Ethiopia Sidamo beans, roast them to a medium-dark roast in my trusty hot air popper, let them sit overnight, then enjoy. I honestly think that a lot of people put cream and sugar into their coffee because the coffee itself is kind of crappy. I.e. there's a reason why the 'double double' at Tim Horton's is seen by some as Canada's national drink: the coffee itself sucks.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I agree with the above post. Fresh ground, high quality beans, make a world of difference. I too, used to use cream & sugar...now I get a good 12+ cups of black & love it. I prefer darker roast

Just use less sugar until you cut it completely. Then do the same with cream. Use less then switch to low fat milk then cut that. Use the best coffe you can afford.
