    Default Balms

I see a lot of guys on here using these after shave balms. For me i seem to have to use some sort of smelly alcohol based liquid to get my face to look clean and burn free after a shave. Am i the only one using the cheap food market after shaves anymore. nivea this skin food that. Whats wrong with pinaud clubman or aqua velva. I like them and they do great things for my skin and it is pretty sensitive skin at that.

Nothing wrong with just using an after shave. I don't use any after shave balms either.

I really like the aftershaves and witch hazels in the warmer months, but during the winter, my face enjoys the extra moisture from the balms.

It's an astringent. Here's a Wiki link about it, look under the "Medicinal uses" section. Seems to be popular for aftershave lotions and such. Many drugstores carry it in 100% strength; often near the mineral oil...

What's wrong with Pinaud Clubman? Absolutely nothing I say! I'm another one who just uses witch hazel and after shave...and Pinaud Clubman is one of them.

    Cool

I use Pinaud Clubman and Aqua Velva on a regular basis, and I love them both. Since I live in Florida and I do not have dry skin...I seldom use balms....but when I do, I follow it with a Dos XX.

I use a balm (Nivea) when I have dry skin, I don't drink enough water, and I do one too many passes.
Otherwise I think it's nice not to use anything. But I never just put alcohol based things on. Maybe I should try it - is there an advantage?

It's Witch Hazel and Nivea here, they seem to do the job, nothing fancy for me.
