    Default Cheap Nivea Balm

I already posted this in the cologne / aftershave / balm thread, sorry if it is not tactful to post the same thread twice, just wanted make sure people saw it.

Hello fellow SRP members. The wife and I went on a date to the movies and we were going to be quite early, so on the way we stopped in at a Walgreens to get some candy to take in for less than $965436098534 / box. While there, I was looking at post shave balms as I am in need of some. A friend of mine who used a DE recommended that I try Nivea products.

As my luck would have it they were on sale at Walgreens any 2 products for $9. Not too bad, but you also got $4 off next purchase at Walgreens (barring beer and Rx's... damnit) So, by the end of it all it was $2.50 a piece for the Nivea products, I got one for sensitive skin and the extreme care or something, two different ones. After I checked out, got the $4 coup. that was printed with the receipt and handed it to the wife who used it get 4 boxes of $1 candy for the movies.

Granted, Nivea products are not that expensive to begin with (~$6 a piece), it's still nice to save a few bucks whenever possible.

So, for anyone who uses Nivea products or wants to try them hopefully since Walgreens is a national chain where ever you are you can take part in this deal. Not sure how long it will last for, though.

Best regards and great shaves all around,
    -amt

    Default Cheap Nivea Balm

    Hello, amt:

Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, Nivea is good for the money. Although I use other products now, Nivea still has my recommendation. With those prices who can go wrong?

    Regards,
    Obie

Wow! Excellent deal. I really like the Nivea Sensitive Balm and still use it occasionally. For that price, it can't be beat.

At normal prices (around $7), I do not find the Nivea products that great a value. They come in a very small container. There are other balms, including Institut Karite which is my current favorite, that sell for three times the price, but offer you almost three times the volume.

The price you got, however, is a steal.

yea, if you ever check around any of those "frugal" websites and communities, they can break down what you can get and use the coupon to buy a ton of stuff for near nothing.

Nivea products are also readily available in every location. I think that is a big seller for a lot of people.

    Hello, Shoki:

That depends on what products you have in mind: shaving soap or cream, aftershave balm, aftershave, and so on. Also, products available at Walgreen only? In which case I can suggest little, since the only product I buy from Walgreen these days is Pinaud aftershave. Also, around Christmas the store near my house has some good sales on traditional aftershaves, including English Leather and Royal Copenhagen, which I still use.

I agree...Nivea products are a good buy for wet shavers. I use both the "Extreme Comfort" and the "Sensitive." I consider both must haves for post-shave skin treatment.

Do you know what the difference is between "Extreme Comfort" and "Sensitive."?

    Thank you,
