Lucky Tiger / Trumpers Skin Food
I have seen both of these talked about here and so I went to some sites to check them out. Im afraid that I am going to be one of those that will fall prey to packageing as I saw the lucky tiger bottle and loved the way the bottle looked so whats inside must be good right. So before I order some I thought I would control myself and ask for opinions on these. Are they more like aftershave balms or are they a replacment for witchhazel. Ive have heard alot about the Trumpers Skin Food and would like to try that but which one.

I can't speak to Trumper's, but I've been working my way through a bottle of Lucky Tiger Face Tonic for the past couple of months. It's a mild astringent, to be used in the same way as witch hazel. It has a mild citrus scent (kind of like grapefruits) which fades almost immediately and does a decent job of toning the skin, but with no bite. It's the second to last step in my post shave routine-warm rinse/alum block/cold rinse/Lucky Tiger/AS.

I've never used the tiger but have used the skin food quite a bit. It's very good stuff. pretty much an after shave balm. I had bought the large bottle 1000ml and the stuff deteriorated before I finished it and had to trash it after around 3 years.

I have and use Trumpers limes Skin Food, I time to time apply it to my wet skin just before lathering for an extra bit of cushioning. Although I will say for me it is not as good as Proraso post balm, but it is nice even if I do have to apply another thinner coat after the first a few moments later. Least that's the way it seems to go for me.
