Default Warm Weather and Bay Rum

    Gents,

At the risk of sounding like Capt. Obvious, I would like to say that Bay Rum is wonderful as a post shave in warm/humid weather. My current warm weather rotation is Truefit and Hill Pre-Shave, Poraso Creme, only two passes with my Dovo Bismarck. I follow with dousing my face in cold water and then splashing Dominic Bay Rum on my face, back of my head, and neck.
My skin doesn't get that heat rash that usually comes with the hot sticky MidWest weather.

What is in your warm weather rotation?

    Kindest Personal Regards,
    Jochen

I like a cold-water shave with Proraso, as well as SRD Lime and an Australian cream
called Fauldings, which has a nice touch of camphor and eucalyptus.

For a cool refreshing aftershave, I like Dominica Bay Rum Lime, Lucky Tiger Aspen,
and Ogallala Bay Rum Lime and Peppercorns. For a terrific shot of menthol,
    Osage Rub is very nice.

Love bay rum, especially after a breezy open window shave on a nice warm day, preferably with birds chirping. Really nice feeling.

I just wish I could find one that was just a teensy bit more strong smelling than Dominica and Capt. Smith's (but nowhere near "cologne guy" strong).

I don't think I've ever used any bay rum that was strong smelling and even they few that were stronger they didn't last very long. I think it just goes with the scent.

Proraso and Bay Rum are superb in the summertime, very cooling and soothing, but I still use them year round. Can't say I have any true "season specific" products.

I like both Proraso and bay rum (Dominica or Ogallala), but for a nice cooling finish with the Proraso try Anherb aftershave balm and Proraso aftershave.

    Yes indeed!

I have to agree with Ryan82. I have no specific warm weather rotation, though I do avoid the strong scented AS in warm weather (e.g. Old Spice).

Bay rum as a finish preceded by something menthol (i.e. Skin Bracer or Osage Rub) and of course Murray and Lanman's Florida Water is the ultimate hot weather cologne
