Thread: Non chalky lotions

After switching up my routine to cool water, alum and lastly lotion... i am finding that some lotions are chalky as they dry. I am using 1/2 a dime.

Its getting to be expensive. any recommendation on moisturizing lotion with a good vanilla or almond smell? the lotion is definitly killed the razor burn on my neck so i want to keep it up.

what can i say, i like to smell good in my old age for my girls.

Anyway, I can't really comment on vanilla/almond lotions, but I can't say enough good things about Trumpers Skin Food. It works wonders. It may seeem expensive up front, but it lasts forever since you only need a little dab. You can always opt for the travel size, which is a bit cheaper.

I concur with my good friend Ryan about Trumper's Skin Food. I use the coral version with its delightful light rose fragrance. Also, try the aftershave balm by Institute Karite, a French product loaded with shae butter. With these, "chalky" will be a bad memory.

I would recommend Corn Husker's lotion from your local pharmacy. It is inexpensive, practically scent free and works well. it doesn't take a lot either.

I got to give a shout out to Nivea Sensitive Balm, it does wonders need very little and is absorbed into the skin. Only thing is it's scent free, and I don't know of an almond type scented balm to be honest.

I've found some of the chalky or residue leaving lotions out there are good preps. I's just that some require a really tiny amount. If you put too much on that's where the problem comes from. The worst I ever had was Musgo Real balm which always seemed to leave a residue. Once I realized you just use a trace of the stuff I really loved it.

+1 for Corn Huskers. I use it and Nivea (not the same day). Sometimes for the Corn Huskers I mix in a little bit of my Ogalalla Bay Rum + Sandalwood AS in the palm of my hand before I rub it in.

I'm a big fan of Proraso aftershave, the white milky one without the alcohol. It really settles the skin and has little to no scent when dry so it does not interfere with any cologne you might choose to use.
