Thread: adding stuff to lather

Hello everyone, i saw in a video here at SRP that someone added Glycerin into their cup to make some sick looking lather. So i picked me up some after a long search for taht stuff and it was really awsome. I added just a bit but it did seem to increase the lather creamyness. I was wondering if there are other thigns I could pick up and add to make a awsome lather.

Also some recommendations for a soap would be appriacted. I have been using my blood orange soap from SRD set I bought and its getting to that time i branch out and try new things. A cream or soap recommendation woudl work. thanks everyone. ( I have heard of the bombs by alraz but they are a little too pricy for me at the moment) im looking at the lower end scale as of now.

Try a tube of proraso cream. It is available locally at bath and bodyworks labeled as "C.O. Bigelow"

Do a search on uber lather. Basically soap, cream and glycerin.

Perhaps Mama Bears Soaps, creams from Vintage Blades LLC or SRD. These may represent your next price point.

I think I have about 8 options for lathering and I love the variety!

I'll throw in my favorites, which run about $10 per puck and last forever:

Provence Sante Verlaine, L'Occitaine, Truefitt & Hill, and Edwin jagger aloe vera.

I use L'Occitane Triple Milled Soap, with the glycerin, and a drop or two of an EO to give it a scent. Since the soap is unscented, by adding a drop of EO I make it scented and then let my mood in the morning decide what scent I want to use. lately I have been using Lime, which is a refreshing scent.

+1 on the previous recommendations. I have at least three recommendations for shaving creams to add to your SRD Blood Orange soap. In addition to the Proraso, which has already been mentioned, try adding some Ingram or Erasmic SC to your soap. Both of them are relatively inexpensive, yet provide good lather for shavers, even by themselves. Mixing the shaving soap and cream together with a few drops of glycerin and you will be on your way to creating Uberlather.

Have not found a soap (tried 3) that will make a lather worth a hoot.

Years ago I could do it in a mug with some brand but not what I have now.

You can buy a small bottle of glycerin at you local drugstore--CVS, Walgreen's Rite-Aid.

Lime Essential oil may be somewhat more difficult to find. Try a local perfume store that makes custom fragrances for its customers or an organic food store. Either of them may carry it.

As for soap, try online. Edwin Jagger and Tabac are my favorites. Other SRP members may be able to offer other suggestions.
