    Red face Silicone

    Hello
After reading about people using a few drops of glycerin when making lather in their shaving mug I tried using a few drops of cosmetic grade silicone ( dimethicone ) when I was making my lather in my mug. In my opinion it made a noticeable difference in the slickness and cushion of the lather and how soft my skin felt after my shave. You can get a small 2oz bottle of the stuff in any adult toy shop for about $3 to $4 it will be labeled as personal lubricant. Give it a try.

Dimethicone is actually polydimethylsiloxane (not silicone). It is actually used as an anti-foaming agent so I would be a bit reluctant to use it in my shaving lather.

    From Wikipedia:

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) belongs to a group of polymeric organosilicon compounds that are commonly referred to as silicones[1].

    The rest here.

    Best regards,
