    Default Proraso Preshave Application

I am a beginner to straight shaving and have just started using Proraso preshave which is excellent so far. One problem I am having with it however is in how to apply it. I have been taking a almond sized scoop with my finger and rubbing it by palm over the beard before continuing on with the shave soap with the brush. Is it possible to use my moistened brush to apply the pre-shave just like the shave soap instead of my hands? I do not like getting my hands oily before using the razor and would prefer to be able to apply the preshave using the brush as well unless this will damage the brush or is for some reason not the right approach?

As well how long do I wait between applying the preshave and the shave soap? Should I rinse my face between the preshave and soap?

Proraso pre/post is a favorite product of mine, I use it before every shave. Unlike most other preshave products Proraso isn't oily/greasy; it's purpose isn't so much geared towards lubrication but rather skin & whisker conditioning.

You could very well use your brush if you like. Personally I wouldn't, since the scent is quite a bit stronger than most soaps and creams and would likely linger in your brush for some time. I don't really know if it would be physically bad for your brush since it does seem to be water soluble, but I'd be sure to rinse the brush out very well after each use. But if this isn't a major concern for you then don't worry about it

What I do is apply an almond size dollop to either wet hands or a wet face. When I say wet I mean just enough moisture to allow the cream to spread, not become a liquid. I then spend about a minute massaging the cream into my beard with my finger tips. I let it soak in for another minute or so while I make my lather and comb my hair, etc. I would guess the time between preshave and lather would be perhaps a couple minutes. I then remoisten my face (not rinse) before I brush on my lather. Then it's shave time!

I do notice that my shaves are noticable better, and my skin feels smoother, when I use Proraso compared to when I don't.

    Good luck>

    Hi!
I also use Proraso pre / post. Cool thing. I put a small amount of cream by hand. Rubbing massaging movements.
Then wait a few minutes. After this shaving cream (I use Proraso Sensitive) over the Proraso pre / post.
I noticed that when using the Proraso pre / post almost never cuts.
For use should be quite a bit. I think the brush is not needed. Too much expense.
    Sincerely,
    Alexander
