Thread: BEST SHAVE EVER

I have been sick for the past 5 days, and i was not able to shave, cuz my hands were shaky. Any way today, i was getting ready for my shave, by taking a hot shower, and i made sure my face was nice and clean. I took my willans lather, and applied it, while i was doing this, my towel was in the sink, soaking in hot water, i then wraped the towel around my face( i got this off of youtube) (GeoFatboy). After this i applied mineral oil, and then i lathered once again. I used my old geneva, first time i used this in about 6 months( i dropped it, and dulled the hell out of it). I was so impressed at how clean the blade ran across my cheek, after i did three passes( WTG,XTC,ATG) i washed all the oil, and cream off, added after shave(club man, cuz it is my favorite). i am used to have a face feeling like butter after a shave but this felt like baby's skin, I had no razor burn at all, i have never gotten a shave this close, and irritation free. It took me about 1 hours from shower to me being ready to walk to my girlfreinds house, but it was worth it.

So what do you attribute this best shave ever to? The 5 days growth, your illness, blue balls, your (I assume) out-for-professional-honing-and-just-returned-razor or a change in your prep regimen (soaping twice for example), as this branch of the forum's name might suggest?

i believe it was the change in prep. Also, my angel was most like off on the ATG pass, which is why i had the irritation.
