Default Art Of Shaving Pre Shave Oil

Have been using this product for 8 months now and just ran out. Up until this point I couldn't live without it. I didn't trust my shaving without it. I believe it adds cushion and comfort to the AOS lather which is by the way very difficult to make consistantly

    Shaving Soaps/Shaving Creams reviews:

    Packaging
: The packaging is ok.. however the bottle is hard to use to dispense a small amount

Texture: The texture is thick. Very thick which I initially thought was on pourpose to add more cuhion and I believe it does. However, it gets on your hands, razor an the sink.

Scent:I love the sandal wood scent of AOS products

    Latherability: N/A

    Cushion: Good cushion, very thick

    Moisturising: heavy moisturizing.

    Price: 22.00.. not horrible

Overall impression: A good all around preshave oil. It last a good while for the price and it adds great cushion. I love the scent. I would buy it again.

    Default Thick, gooey.

I got a bottle of the Lemon oil and found it thick and gooey. It does get all over your razor, face, and anything else you touch. The smell of the Lemon is really nice; I just wish the oil were more useful. I tried it with non-AoS cream, and I found the shave experience much nicer without it. I had to spend more time on prep and clean-up, and didn't get a noticeably better shave as a result.

Note: I didn't find it particularly moisturizing, as I had to wash my face a couple times to get the goo off. Yuck.

    Default AOS Pre Shave Oil

I used it and when I learned from one of the AOS sales persons that it is mostly castor oil I have been making up my own oil. It is mostly castor oil with a little mineral oil added to make it less sticky. I add a little bit of sandalwood scented oil to make it smell nice. My own stuff works as well as the original AOS oil and is a lot cheaper to make. I also use AOS shaving cream, brushes and straight razors. All are quality products.

    Default

I too have been using their pre shave oil from time to time, and found that if I place the bottle in the bowl of hot water and let it set while I shower, it warms up and thins out tremendously.......give it a try!

    Default AOS PreShave Oil

I was given another bottle for a christmas gift and have had a chance to try it again. I still like the cushion. The bottle is still hard for me to dispense sparringly, however the cushion is better then most so it is a small price to pay. I have warmed it and it does thin it without decreasing any effectiveness to me. The price is a little higher then some.
