Thread: Maca Root Pre-Shave Oil from The Body Shop

This is a nice preshave oil made from essential plant oils. Zea Mays Oil, Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil are the oils used in this product. It is very light and easy to apply. I love the scent of the Maca Root products.

Pre-Shave Oils:

Packaging: The new bottle is a pump dispenser that delivers a little too much at a time, so be caueful not to waist the product. It is a minor problem and easy to deal with if you are careful.

Texture: This is a nice light essential plant oil product

Scent: I really like the Maca Root Scent. It is unusual and not everyone wears it. It is pleasant and not overpowering

Effectiveness: It does add glyde to the razor but not as much as some

Cushion: The cushion effect is average

Moisturising: This oil is called "Maca Root Wash Off Shave Oil", so as its name implies it pretty much washes off. If you like that, you'll note no after shave oily film

Price: At 10.00 it's easy to purchase, however that is only for .5 ounces so it really doesn't last long if you are using very much.

Overall impression: This is a nice essential oil product that is light with a very nice scent. I have no real complaint with the oil, but I wish there were more of it per 10.00 purchase. The price would be fine if there were more of it. I would rather pay more for more oil so I don't keep running out. I personally prefer a pour type bottle so that I can be in better control of how much oil I dispense while applying the product to my face. It does not seem to be quite as effective as other products I've tried. I believe it does not penetrate as well. The scent is its best quality in my opinion.

I'm over in Britian but am using the same product - but when I use it I find that it dispenses far too little. I have to pump it 3 times to get enough to do my face. Is that more than anyone should be using?

Hello, I still use this oil frequently because it is so economical and easy for me to attain. It works pretty well and I like the scent. The cushion is not as good as the AOS and Origins products I've used but quite adequate and the price is very reasonable.

The packaging is nice. I like the pump dispenser over pooring from bottle.
